Q:
I
would like to get in touch with Jacqui. What is her
email address?
A:
You'll
have to depend on snail mail and write to Jacqui at
PO Box 27667, Austin, TX 78755. Jacqui does
not have an email address that she releases to the
public. All of Jacqui's fingers had to be amputated
as a result of the accident, so it is hard for her
to write or to use a computer keyboard. Though she
is now able to hold a pen between the thumb that surgeons
have made for her and the side of her right hand,
writing is very difficult and so is using a keyboard
(Jacqui must select each letter individually). Jacqui
wishes that she could answer all of the mail she receives,
but that is not possible at this time. She very much
appreciates the notes of encouragement she receives
and reads all of her mail.
Q:
Does
Jacqui make speeches and presentations?
A:
Jacqui
is not making personal appearances at this time, but
hopes to be able to do so in the future. Check the
"News" page on her web site periodically
for updates.
Q:
I'm
with the media. We want to interview Jacqui for a
story. How do we contact her?
A:
Sherry
Matthews Advocacy Marketing helps Jacqui handle the
requests she receives for media interviews. Contact
Janet Lea at info@helpjacqui.com
to discuss your request.
Q:
How
can campaign materials featuring Jacqui be used?
A:
Materials
were developed for use by police departments, schools
and nonprofit organizations to deter people from drinking
and driving. Jacqui's images can't be used to new
create ads, posters or other educational items without
her written permission.
Q:
We
would like to use the "Before and After"
public service announcement on TV stations in our
area. What do we do?
A:
Jacqui
has granted rights to the Texas Department of Transportation
to use her image in the TV commercial developed for
broadcast in Texas only. Contact Janet Lea
at info@helpjacqui.com
to find out about acquiring rights for use in your
state.

Q:
I
want to order some of your educational materials for
my school. Why can't I use a purchase order or credit
card?
A:
The
Help Jacqui Fund is managed by volunteers. Unfortunately,
we don't have the resources to accept purchase orders
and prepare invoices. Most people are able to work
with their organizations and provide payment upfront
for educational materials. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Q:
I
have written to Jacqui before, but she didn't write
me back. Didn't she get my letter?
A:
Because
her hands were so badly damaged, Jacqui is physically
unable to answer the many letters she receives. She
very much appreciates the notes of encouragement and
reads all of her mail.
Q:
What
are Jacqui's plans for the future?
A:
For
now, Jacqui will continue to live in the United States
so that she can continue to receive the world's best
medical care. She is thinking about writing a book.
She looks forward to the day when she is able to be
independent once more and return to her home in Venezuela.
